Hey so reading around on the boards here, one thing i've noticed is that experienced posters emphasize that it is vital that you have compelling reasons to transfer. this basically means that wanting to go to a school for prestige doesn't cut it. since i plan on looking to transfer this year, i decided to take a look at what i want, and i was wondering if you guys found these reasons for transferring compelling enough (one of the schools im applying to is columbia, so i decided to include the reasons for that specifically)

A. The Core Curriculum at Columbia >> the humanities program at our school, which doesn't even go to that depth
B. Offers better research opportunities and has a stronger bio department than my current school (i'm majoring in Bio)
C. Offers majors in a subject that my present college doesn't offer
D. has languages that i'd like to take.

Are these reasons compelling enough? or am i not getting the picture?
