Complicated Transfer Help Please?

Hello everyone. Long time lurker, but wanna say that this site has been very helpful. Ok, on to the bad stuff =/.

Background: graduated hs back in '01 and went to community college. I did my work at SMC and got a 3.9 gpa with 60 units, but could not figure out what I wanted to do. I drifted for years until I decided to join the army in 2006. During that time, I was doing college course work because my sergeant pushed us to use the army TA to get smarter. Terrible idea since it was erratic schedules. Long story short, I only did upper division around 30 attempted quarter units, but only 18 completed for a business degree. Now I have a 1.9 GPA from this **** online university and I'm going back to SMC to finish a couple prerequisites. If you must know, it was the university of phoenix =/.

Here is my problem: I read about the over the unit thingy, but since I'm going back to a community college, how will this work out? All the upper division work I did are not at the UC's except maybe at Haas, but I have no intention of going into business. Instead I'm planning to study women studies or Spanish depending on whether I can take some extra classes at SMC to fix this situation because I've already completed 2 semesters of Spanish already. I think I also need to finish a math class too since I don't like math very much, but I don't have much choice in this.

Anyways, I'd appreciate any help for this dumb girl. I know I made mistakes, but I'm finally motivated to get ahead in life. If you were wondering what finally kicked me to get started, well I got laid off again because another company was downsizing and since I didn't have a degree I was one of the first ones to be let go even though I worked my butt off. Sigh.

I’m pretty sure USC won’t accept online credits. Call a UC and see what they say.

As for a math class. Most people take stats.

If USC doesn’t accept online credits then does that mean I don’t have to worry about those sinking my gpa and/or unit limit?

I’ll call on Monday to find out, but it’s been nerve wrecking to find out about this.

Yeah, I was planning on either taking stats or calculus.

Thank you so much bomerr!
