<p>I just found out that at Rice I'll have to take a composition exam. What is it? Is it several essays or something?</p>
<p>I'm kinda nervous... although I analyze alright (get low As in a VERY VERY hard English Lit AP class who gives grades on a bell curve) I still am quite nervous... </p>
<p>please help me out fellow Owlers... I will be going to Rice next semester and hopefully without fear!</p>

<p>From what Ive heard, you just write a couple of timed essays online during the summer. As long as they make some sort of sense you should pass. Don't get too nervous over something like this. The worst that will happen is that you will take another english course. But you should be fine.</p>
<p>do take it somewhat serious though (unless you want to take an English intro class)....I think like 40 percent of the 2011 class didn't pass...I'm not sure if that number is right, and supposedly a lot of people who did pass, would have failed, but Rice told them that there wouldn't be enough room for them, so they just passed them.</p>
