DS been admitted to computational neuroscience at USC with premed track. Was wondering how the USC pre-med track prepares for medical school and particularly with this major.
Congratulations to your son! I don’t have an answer to that, but I have a high school son who is also interested in that major. Would you happen to know about how many kids they accept for that major?
My daughter recently graduated USC as a neuroscience major. The neuroscience tracts including computational are popular among premeds as chem, bio, physics, stats, and intro psych all converge with general premed requirements. Computational includes additional computer/programming requirements. USC did a great job providing all the necessary resources for a successful application to med school. Daughter applied without a gap year to 25 highly ranked programs, received 21 interview invites, and landed 4 top 10 acceptances including Geffen scholarship!
