compute science

I used to make fake websites on my computer in HTML when I was younger. This is my only experience with computers and I have a couple of questions. Is enjoying HTML a good sign that I will like computer science as a major? I know that lots of people have advanced experience with computers before they're in high school, will I be far behind? Thanks.

Oops, I forgot the “r” in computer.

No and yes.

What you’ll be doing and learning in CS is far different and far more complicated than what HTML does. With that said, I started off with HTML/CSS and I felt like it did help a tiny bit when I entered my CS program. The best way to see if CS is for you, more specifically programming, is to try learning the basics of a language like Java, Python or C. You don’t need to learn tons now, even though it may help, as an intro level CS class won’t expect you to know any programming.

I appreciate the reply.
