Can you compare and contrast computer engineering at Brown, MIT , Penn, Hopkins and Duke?

Is that computer engineering (hardware design) or computer science (software focused)? Brown has an incredible computer science program that’s both challenging and fun – there’s plenty of room for creative input while completing various projects and opportunities to “go beyond” and take on special challenges. The number of bonus points are trivial, yet many students take the time because they are self-driven and like to prove themselves.

Brown’s CS Department has an extremely well organized UTA (undergraduate TA) program in place, which gives top students an early opportunity to help others and also to work closely with professors well-known in the field.

I think the students at Brown are generally more well-rounded than those at many technically-oriented schools. My son remarks that he finds it interesting that he can hold an intelligent physics discussion with his roommate, who is a theatre major. Many CS majors also have unique cross-interests which add richness to the diversity of ongoing discussions.

Thanks. Computer engineering includes both software and hardware.
