Computer Engineering - chance me I guess

Hey!

I have a 3.4 uw and 4.1 w GPA and a 35 ACT and am applying for computer engineering at UIUC. I’m from one of the top, if not the top school in Illinois which also speaks to how competitive the school is.

My GPA is low, and I get that, but I had obesity issues which impeded my learning abilities in my freshman and sophomore years. I spoke about this in my application. Since then, my grades have improved tremendously. Additionally, I worked at the University of Chicago (paid computer engineering internship).

If it matters, I won sixth in the international history fair in Washington D.C my junior year. Over 250,000 people participated around the world in all age groups.

My second major is Stats + CS. Honestly, UIUC is my #1 so getting in into anything would be great. Thanks!!

(If you want me to chance you too, just let me know  )

Bump plz

Comp E is not as selective as some other engineering majors, so I’d say you have a pretty good chance especially if your math/science ACT sub scores are also high. I think that since you explained your grades improved, that will offset the GPA, which really was only slightly below the middle 50% for engineering anyway. Still not a safety, but I’d think you’d get it based on the averages. Good luck!

thanks!! bump
