Howdy Y'all!

I have run into a bit of a problem. I go to Texas A&M University, majoring so far in Electrical Engineering, and recently discovered I HATE circuit theory, but I can do it.... barely.

So, I decided to look into switching my major to Computer Engineering. It looks very interesting. However, I cannot find any listed rankings beyond top 20 for Computer Engineering. A&M does not rank in the top 20 for this major, although we are 16th in the nation overall and most of our programs rank in the top 20.

What I am wondering is: What DOES Texas A&M University - College Station rank nationally for Computer Engineering.... err, how far below 20 is it?

Honestly, don't be so dependent on the ranks. Just because you major at a school which isn't top 20 doesn't mean at all that you're going to live on the street for the rest of your life!

If you're really that curious, doesn't someone in your school know? Perhaps a prof, maybe an office secretary?

CheeseSteak,

Are you happy at A&M? Do you like the school? Then by all means stay there and switch to computer engineering. Don't worry about the rankings, they are highly flawed and won't necessarily guide you to a school that's good for you. A&M is a good school and having any engineering degree there would be pretty good.

Yes, I LOVE it at A&M. Thanks for your re-assurance.

Texas A&M is ranked #23 in the graduate computer engineering rankings. Don't worry, A&M is strong is most areas of engineering.
