Computer Engineering?

what is computer engineering exactly and what would a person be doing in the real world?

How is the pay and job security compared to the other engineering fields?

I have been interested in engineering for a while and have built over 20 computers during highschool. I am just curious how this goes I guess.

Search. This is the millionth time this question has been asked.

When I try to search it says the page has not been found

Hmmm how odd. The search button seemed to have disappeared. Alright then, here's a primer on CmpE:

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_engineering%5B/url%5D">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_engineering</a></p>

Computer HARDWARE Engineers are among the highest paid in all engineering disciplines. BS CmpE new grads at Ga Tech had a average starting salary of $57k in 2006, which if I recall correctly is about $2k higher than the national average.

Job security is comparable to other engineering disciplines, and IMHO not any worse than other professions.
