Computer Majors | Which one?

hi i am a female really into computers
Class of 2014
i like to build things like using screws an all that (weird for a girl huh?)
I already decided my major as Computer Science (took 2 college course: Java and Javascript)
but idk what i really want. Since CS is an impacted major it worries me.
I do like computer chips, and working behind the scenes (heh or inside electronics)

I don't know what i should decide on. I am not much of a hardworker, gpa 3.0, so double major is scaring me.

My hobbies are Multimedia things like photography video animation html graphic design....

Anyways questions
SJSU vs. UCR or UCM or UC santa cruz for computer science what's better?

chance me please:

well big question is what major…

It is likely that all of the listed schools are reaches or out of reach with your stats as listed in your other thread (3.0 HS GPA, 19 ACT).

Here were SJSU’s frosh admission thresholds for the more recent admissions cycle:

(linked from http://info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/impaction.html](http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/narr/admission/rec-903.html) )

The eligibility index is calculated as described here:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - Eligibility Index](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>GPA Calculator | CSU)
using HS GPA as calculated here:
[CSUMentor - Plan for College - High School Students - GPA Calculator](<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU)

Note that computer science is a popular major, so its threshold is higher than for most other majors. Even the somewhat similar software engineering major has a high enough threshold that if it stays that way next year, you are unlikely to get in.

If you cannot get into a desired four year school and major, consider going to community college, doing well there, and then transferring to a four year school as a junior.

Thanks that was helpful. I see software engineering as 2.5 though…? Is there charts like these for other CSU and uc?
