Computer science at northeastern

Hi!
I’ve been trying to finalize what college I want to attend in the fall and was admitted into northeastern for computer science and game design. I love their location in Boston, their computer science program seems solid and I really appreciate that they have the chance of co-op available. The only thing stopping me from firming this choice is due to its lack of recognition and ranking. It doesn’t rank really highly nor is very internationally recognized so I was wondering if this would be a problem for me as an international student. If you go to this school could you please elaborate a bit more about the school, the computer science program and whether you’d recommend it or not! Thank you!!

Northeastern is very well known for CS these days in the US if you plan to stay here. It’s one of the top 25 most represented schools for new-graduates in tech positions in Silicon Valley and is one of the top 25 schools in research output over the past 10 years as well.

Generally, CS doesn’t really care that much for rank either, so I wouldn’t worry about that at all. CS Co-op’s go to all the big companies (Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Lyft, Intuit, etc) and there are even CS co-op’s internationally as well.

As a current CS student, I highly recommend the program

If you haven’t already read this, this details the curriculum and why it’s special:

@mazikeen Do you have better choices? Agree with @PengsPhis. It is a good school for CS and getting a good placement shouldn’t be an issue at all. Boston is next only to Silicon valley (and continuing to do better https://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/2017/10/13/boston-ranked-best-startup-city/)
