Which is the best school for CS-Stanford, Caltech, MIT, or Berkeley? I was thinking about CS/computer vision.

I think all the schools have great departments.

I think all the schools have great departments.

Berkeley is.

Stanford is.
Berkeley is.
MIT is.

And I am seriously not joking.

Departments are very difficult to compare. Stanford MIT Berkeley Carnegie Mellon are as good as it gets.

Interesting. However, at this point I am leaning toward Caltech. Am I making a mistake?

You can't go wrong with Caltech.

"You can't go wrong with Caltech." is true. However, you have to realize how small and specialized Caltech is (nothing wrong with that, but it's not for everyone...). Also, there is a requirement of 4 or 5 semesters of physics for everybody. Make sure you don't mind that.

There was a thread earlier with a thorough comparison of Stanford vs Berkley CS programs. You should find and read that.

Thnaks nngmm - I'm going to look for that.

What happen to the Compuer Vision Dept. at Stanford? The prof. in charge moved to Duke I believe!

Edit: I LOVE Physics. Actually can't really decide between Physics And CV.
