<p>Is anyone here going to Stanford for computer science? How good is their program? Shouldn't it be one of the best - in the world?</p>

<p>In my opinion, its comp sci department is surpassed only by MIT.</p>

<p>& CMU's comp sci is probably better as well.</p>

<p>^ not according to the rankings, even though most rankings are useless.</p>

<p>I'd say that MIT, CMU and Stanford CS departments are equally good and far better than those of any other university.</p>

<p>according to the official rankings....after these 5 schools, the rest are a long drop.</p>

<p>Stanford's CS is above UCB. Check out the thread by another poster on this board which mentions Turing prize winners.</p>

<p>Stanford is the king in computer science, better than any other university in the world. It has created most Turing award winners, and most High tech IT companies.</p>
