Computer Science at Vassar

Does anybody have any experience with computer science at Vassar and how it may compare to computer science at non-liberal arts schools?

This thread could be helpful for comparing CS course offerings across schools of various types:

You can cross-reference with current course catalogs for changes that may have occurred since the above information was researched.

I am not on CC that often, and so only noticed this now; if you did not apply to Vassar this is a moot point, but if you did end up applying to Vassar, Vassar has a lot of research opportunities for Computer Science majors. Just google “URSI” and “Vassar” and you can read about what past Undergraduate researchSummer Institute CS students did. From the website: “URSI students have gone on to present their research at regional and national meetings, and have published their work in a variety of publications, including top-tier scientific journals.” All the science dept. research is represented, including CS. The professors all have student research assistants throughout the school year too. There are a lot of opportunities. Also, you can read about what CS graduates are up to on the Vassar Computer Science homepage. Good luck to you wherever you go!

Thank you, I did apply so hopefully I will get in
