Hi, I am an international student admitted by the master program in EECS umich and CS purdue. Umich costs more, but it seems to have more faculties come from top universities like Stanford and Prienceton. I plan to pursue a PhD after a master's degree. I just wonder if the chance for advanced study in Umich outperforms the one in Purdue and deserves such high cost?

Also, I cares the student body. I hope to go to a university where students are diverse and sensitive to new things.

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you want Michigan. But Purdue would be a good second choice.

Well…I am just hesitant about the choice as my source is limited. I can only make my decision according to the websites of universities. I am really not sure if Umich will provide me with bigger advantage in applying to PhD than Purdue? (It is really expensive!)

Also, is there anyone knows about the chance of seeking financial support in Umich? Thanks!!!

Michigan is better but what is the difference in cost ? I would go up to 30k max difference for 2 years. More than that, you will just be wasting money by attending Michigan.

Purdue has great Aerospace Engineering but weaker in computer science. I was accepted to both for similar major. Also Purdue does not accept you to a specific engineering major, it depends on your GPA the first year, you could be civil engineering major vs EECS at Purdue.
