Computer Science/Mechanical Engineering

Is this possible? i was skimming the undergraduate catalog. I only found CSEE.

What do you mean, is it possible?

Can you just major in CS? According to the catalog, you can only major in CS/EE.

There are three options for course 6 (electrical engineering and computer science) -
6-1: EE
6-2: EECS
6-3: CS

Mechanical engineering (course 2) has a few options too. You can be 2, 2A, or 2-OE. 2-A is “flexible” Course 2, which may be what you want. I’ve definitely heard of people doubling in 6-3 and 2, though I’m not sure whether they were 2 or 2-A. I would think that both are possible, 2-A just has less 2 requirements (I think). You can also minor in course 2, but you can’t minor in any form of 6.

Thanks that clears things about a lot! So, if I undergo 6-3, do i still have to take the EE intro classes?

Yes you would have to take 2 intro EECS classes regardless, which will teach circuits, digital systems, state machines, etc. It’s good to have a background in EE because the two fields can closely complement each other.
