Is it possible to do both in Pitt? I'm considering computer science and I'm also thinking about trying the pre-med route as well. Is it difficult?

Absolutely. Pre-med isn’t a major, it’s a track. To apply to med school you need great GPAs, great MCAT scores, and certain prerequisite classes, which typically will also prepare you for the MCATs. Along with this you’ll likely need to show interest in medicine by volunteering in hospitals or shadowing physicians, and research doesn’t hurt. Pitt is a flat out outstanding place to get all of this accomplished.

Likely doing pre-med and compsci, would might sense to do a double major in CompSci and Biology or a similar field. Getting research experience that combines both fields is also very possible at Pitt, and there is a big, big need out there for computational, computersci biologist/health scientists even if you don’t end up in med school.
