<p>hey I just got a question for other CS majors. did you have to take a course in circuits like designing the ALU and stuff. I know alot of univ. dont require that. This was just the most painful course ever.</p>
<p>Ya, a few univ cram that in an Elec Eng intro class and make us take that...I will be taking it this fall...i hope i will not hate it.</p>
<p>"Designing the ALU" falls under classes called "Computer Architecture" or "Computer Organization." Any good CS program should require a class on that. How can you understand computers if you don't know how a processor is put together?</p>

<p>Yes, I had to understand and implement several ALU modules for homework assignments and the final exam in CSM51A at UCLA. Too bad I forgot it all... :rolleyes:</p>
