Computers for B-Majors?

Anything special required here?
I'll be doing undergrad at Stern, and was wondering what computer would best suit my needs.

Additionally, did you business majors find yourselves lugging your computer to class? I ask this because I want to get a heavier computer, but would probably change my mind if I needed it for class everyday.

bump .

Business computers don't have to be as well-equipped as gaming computers. For business, software and a high amount of hard disk space are the most important. Office software typically doesn't require that much RAM. MS Office would probably be all you need.

Lighter ones cost more than heavier ones. I'm not sure about bringing laptops everyday to class. Maybe an actual college student could clear that up for us because I want to know, too.

bump .

Nothing special required for business majors. Libraries are usually equipped with a lot of PCs which have softwares already available for doing spreadsheets, reading slideshows and documents. Although a laptop would be nice, its not necessary unless you want convenience of PC. You'll need storage devices though such as floppy, USB flash, etc. for saving files and documents but that's about it.
