I'm currently a Junior in a high school of about 340 students within the Junior class. At the end of the first semester of my Junior year, I ranked 38 making me top 11%. I've recently attended a session at UT with information about admission into the school. It's my understanding that the college allows automatic acceptance to students that are at least top 8%. Currently, I plan on applying to be a Communication Major first with a second choice of Liberal Arts. Will this mean that I will most likely not be accepted into the school? I'm currently taking SAT classes and will be taking both the SAT and ACT tests in June. I understand that these also play a benefactor when applying. Also, I'm greatly involved within the student body and community: Key Club, Student body class president, Reporter for the school show choir, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, All Region Choir and Texas State Solo & Ensemble, plenty of service hours, active member within my church youth group, etc. This year I have taken 6 AP courses, 3 of which I am co-enrolled: English III Pre-AP, U.S. History AP, and Pre-Calculus Pre-AP. Luckily, I have this last semester of my Junior year to hopefully make all A's to bump my GPA and ultimately increase my rank. Assuming I do this with all the other factors I mentioned, will I be able to be accepted into UT?
