Concerned about swearing in essay

One of my essays is about sexism in language, based on an experience I had where we debated the word "". Many people have told me the essay is really good and thought provoking, but someone raised the point that the admissions committee might not like my use of "". In my essay (in the context of talking about sexism) I use the word "" eight times (We defined "" as....but is a "*" a woman who....). It's academic.

One suggestion I had is censor ***** to "b*tch", but I don't want it to seem like I'm backing down.

What do you guys think?

Thanks.

Oh wow, the forum censored me. Anyway, you guys get what I mean, haha :P

Yours appears to be a rare situation in which it would be appropriate to use the swear word – and to do it without asterisks.

agreed. it’ll definitely catch the attention of any sleepy reader, thereby ensuring that your message comes across. i say you should keep it.
