Concurrent MD Program?

<p>Maybe I just haven't looked deep enough at the JHU website or elsewhere, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but does JHU offer a concurrent undergrad/M.D. program (most programs offer an undergrad degree and M.D. in six years)?</p>

<p>I'm 95% sure that I want to go into medicine, and, to me, getting an M.D. two years early is great, since I plan to specialize and want to cut off as much of the 12-year education as possible. I thought I read somewehere that JHU has such a program, but I can't seem to find anything about it on the JHU site. I'd appreciate soma additional information/links, if there are any available.</p>

<p>Hopkins doesn't have a combined BS/MD program. Most of the other programs I've heard about are 7 or 8 years - squeezing both degrees into 6 years sounds pretty tough.</p>

<p>***? jhu does not have a six year medical program. and what do you mean most programs are six years? like which schools? i only know of 7 or 8 year</p>

<p>Anyway, being doctor is about a lifetime of education. I can't imagine why anyone who aspires to be a doctor would want to cut that time short.</p>

<p>Med school is extremely expensive, it would make sense that you would want to cut it short.</p>

<p>well the original question has been answered already, but I though I would supply you all with an "official" answer:</p>

<p>"Johns Hopkins University does not offer any 6 or 7 or 8 year advanced / combined / integrated medical programs for enrolling undergraduates in the Johns Hopkins Medical School or any other medical program. Students at Johns Hopkins interested in pursuing medical school must complete four years of undergraduate study in a major of their choosing and then apply to medical school. We do offer undergraduate students a pre-health advising program that will assist in medical school preparation and the medical school application process. </p>

<p>The Johns Hopkins Medical School is one of the most competitive medical schools in the country to be accepted into, and we do not support any guaranteed enrollment programs for our undergraduates."</p>

<p>Just to add my two cents: with how competitive Hopkins Medical is, and how small the incoming class is each year (about 110), there is no reason why we should offer guaranteed enrollment to a student who has not even attended college yet.</p>
