Concussion but AP exam coming up...

so I got a concussion from unintentionally running headfirst into a wall (sport) and was put on medical leave for a little less than 2 weeks. However, I missed a LOT of Class AP prep (calculus bc specifically, which can count as a college credit for my uni I believe).

I return to school Tuesday, but the ap is 6 days from when I come back. I know my class has been reviewing immensely with mock AP questions and such. I don’t know how I will do… will a college understand if I don’t do well on the AP exam? Will they let me appeal to not take calculus again in college?

According to my school, if I get a 4 or 5 it’ll fulfill the CORE requirement which is ideal for me. I don’t intend on majoring or minoring in math/engineering/STEM.

Oh update: found out that getting a 4 or 5 on Any of the english exams can also allow for my exemption in some English courses… but this exam is THE DAY AFTER I ARRIVE FROM MY MEDICAL LEAVE!

If you bring the AP coordinator at your school a note from your Dr. you can likely take all of your AP exams on the make-up days. These are generally about two weeks later.

This will give you a bit more time to recover and make-up the prep work.

Good luck!

I’d take them. If your scores aren’t good, ask your GC to mention your medical condition specifically in relationship to those tests in college recs. Because if you don’t take them, you’d want that explanation in there anyway. So why not give it a shot if you feel up to it?
