Condition terms of transfer

I am admitted to UC Berkeley in spring 06. In the condition terms, it stated that I need to get a grade not lower than C before transfer. However, I am worrying of one of my class that may not pass. If so, will I be rejected to Berkeley? Should I contact the admission office first and tell them my situation?

You should state only when you actually get a D or an F in a class, but yeah, I would worry.....only because I hate provisional admission. You might not get rejected from Berkeley....depending on the class, but if it makes you feel better to call them, then you should do so.

thank you very much!
You commend help me a lot, thx anyways.

I'm in the same shoes as you.

But for Cornell, it does say on the letter that you need to complete courses with satisfactory grades (As and Bs).

I don't know what's their take on one C or C+.

Thought I'm still nto sure what I woudl be getting for this one class.

I'm wondering the same thing - but for NYU. I may get a C in my math class (not required by NYU general req. or for my major and above calculus II, which I have already taken). They don't specify the letter grades you need in the acceptance letter, but I'm wondering if a C would keep me from being able to attend.

why didnt you drop this class?
i had the same problem - i did really bad in a math class, then i just dropped it, and reported to berkeley after i got admitted. they updated my file and thats it!

School won't need final spring semester transcript grades unless they request it.

EDIT: Not sure about your school...mite wanna check with them.

So I'm just thinking, they're just going to use our midyears? And when we apply to grad school down the line, we'll need to get transcripts from the new and old universities.

OKay, actually, I take back what I said, the person might have been confused. But yes, they do require it. ARghh..

Here's the thing though, it says that they do accept credits if grades are C or above. In that case, I guess that means they do accept Cs?

kkl - is that for Cornell? If it is, I would assume NYU would not be any more strict in my case.

Yeh, and I'm pretty sure I asked the lady, "Do I need to send in my final transcript." Then she said, the deadline has passed, but then I told her that I was an accepted transfer student for the Fall and I'd like to know if I needed to send in anything. And then she said nothing, unless I was informed to do so. She sounded pretty clear to me. So I'm not sure if I should send in a final transcript at all.

Argh...there's this one class I'm not sure about...ahh

I'm worried about the same thing, but with UVA. It really depends now on how I do on my final here at UMD as to whether or not I get a B or C. I think that you're probably still ok with a C, but a D? They will more than likely review your app again and decide from there.

Let's hope for the best.

did you meet the conditions and if not, did they revoke your admission? i'm in the same situation for UCB

kkl230, you're gonna have to send in an official transcript when you complete your spring semester for any school in order for them to do a credit evaluation.

Hey guys,

Can't believe this thread is still up. If you look at the date, this thread was from last year.

Anyway, I've been in Cornell since Fall 05.

This thread should be closed.

As for hailtothethief, no they did not revoke my admission status.

Just do your best now and don't think about it. If you are really concerned. Call or email the school. Good luck.

kkl, question. Did you get a C or C+? And if you did, did Cornell say anything?

For some reason, I got a B.

Sometimes don't think too much into it. One bad grade won't kill you. Besides, you have other exams to make up for one poor exam grade.

So don't worry.

If you're sure you're going to get a "c-" or below, make other plans now. They stick to their guns on the conditions of admission. This is even more so for spring admits.

well i'm a fall admit for UCB. what if i send in my SIR tho? by the time i get my grades for sure it will be too late to go to any other university b/c they want you to reply by june and my finals end may 26th. i'm gonna pass all my classes with at least a C but its just that my semester GPA might be below a 3.0
