I’m just genuinely curious. Given that for a lot of schools, when transfer decisions come out, they don’t give you nearly as much time to make your final decision as regular decision, it’s very possible that if one school put out decisions in say late April-early may, but you also applied to another school that won’t give out the decisions until late may-early June, what happens in those cases? Like say what if you got a decision from 1 school but you really have to wait for another school before making any decision, but you don’t have very long to decide. What can you do?
You can ask school one for an extension, or accept the spot.
Exactly. You treat this as a waitlist situation. If the offer from A is affordable, you accept A. If a later affordable offer comes infrom B, that is when you decide if you like B more than A, and cancel with A if you decide to accept B. You will probably lose the deposit to A, but oh well. Consider it a down payment on your overall expectation of better things at B.
And don’t worry about A being unhappy; schools plan for and expect changes as decision roll out, wait lists bubble up, etc.
