Confused about "Cal Grant Program Award Notification"

Anyone that can help me out, thanks a lot.

I applied to 8 schools and I filled out the FAFSA which had only 6 slots. So I did what CC told me, to put in 6 schools, then correct the FAFSA and add 2 more schools. I did that.

So then awhile ago, I got this "Cal Grant Program Award Notification" which only listed 2 schools (the ones I corrected on the FAFSA) which coincidently I got into both of these schools pretty early. I checked with all the schools and they said they recieved my FAFSA.

So my question is, was I supposed to get an award notification with the other 6 schools included too? (which at the time I wasn't accepted yet..)

Now I was accepted to 2 more schools. Should I be getting one soon?

Sorry if this seems confusing but thanks a lot for helping me out...

~A.

CalGrants can be confusing.

Your CalGrant will be applied to whatever school you end up going to (assuming it's a CA school). The amount will depend on the school's tuition.

When you decide where you're going, call CalGrant, or send in the form that should have come with your notification, and let them know what school you're going to.

They seem to assume you're going to the first listed on FAFSA unless you tell them differently.

did you apply to schools only in california? the other ones might be out of state and so you won't get the grants maybe?

^Nope, all of them are in California.

ohh, i took a look at my letter, and it turns out, it listed only my top three schools, not the 4th one. the letter will indicate your top 3 choices. so the FA packages from those schools should include it. if you know which college you are going to, you should change it online asap and it'll let you know how much you will be getting. i just figured all of it out last night.. so confusing!
