I graduated high school back in 2011. I will be in my third semester of college this fall. I go to a community college. My problem is that I do not know how to go about this all. Growing up, I had little to no mentorship, and was homeschooled (but not properly educated) until high school. I do not know what I should look for in a school, how to go about a scholarship, what it is like to apply for a new college, etc. I barely even understand the words "undergraduate" and "post grad".

This isn't to say I am unintelligent. I am actually quite smart, but have not been educated in some of these matters. I had a GPA around 3.5 in high school (I have a high 3.4 GPA currently). I have been recommended by my English professors to teach part-time as an English tutor while I am at the community college. I am in the student association as a secretary. I am starting clubs. I am in an honor society. I am somewhat fluent in Japanese, as I lived there for a few years as a child.

I wanted to go into psychology as a therapist, but I have been hearing that the field provides a low success rate. I have considered something with media or journalism, but I do not know if those are fields where one can easily get a job. All I want to do is be successful and enjoy my work; I just need to know how to get there. I will do whatever it takes.

Can someone help me understand the process of college (graduating, applying to a four year university, getting scholarships, what to do after graduating, how to choose a major, etc.)?
