Confused about loans, could you help me clarify?

Hello everyone.

I'm a freshman that just transferred from another University.

But can someone please clarify...

I left the school with which I have the loans, but I AM still in school (I merely transferred from my university to another) attending more than half time (11 units).

Am I on a grace period right now, or do I still have till after I graduate to repay?

You are an in-school deferment period. You should have an online account with your loan servicer - all students should! Log in and find out whether or not they have your loan in deferment. If not, find out how to get it deferred. Call them if you have questions.

If you do not know your servicer, go to [National Student Loan Data System for Students](http://www.nslds.ed.gov). Log in with your PIN. Every student should make sure their loans are properly reflected in NSLDS and with their servicers. Mistakes can happen, and it is in your best interest to keep track of your loan amounts. Again, every student should know who their servicer is, have an online account with the servicer, and check their loan amounts in NSLDS and on the servicer website every semester. You borrowed, you will have to repay … so keep on top of your loans!!
