Hello, I have filed a FASFA/ CAL Grant and have received financial aid to the point where financial aid covers for all of my housing fees (confirmed in a letter sent to me from UCLA.. I owe them negative money). However, this upcoming housing payment is asking me to pay a fee of $3,412. I am confused on whether I should pay this because it asks me to place a credit card number and may draw out the $3,412 instead of taking that out from my financial aid. I feel that I don't have to make a payment at all because of my financial aid but if I simply sit still and do nothing, I will have to pay the 25 dollar late fee.

Has anybody ever been in this situation? Does anybody know what to do?

Thanks in advance

After paying fees, you should've gotten a check/direct deposit for that negative amount you were talking about. You then take that money and use it to pay for housing.

Student fees and housing are billed separately, so you actually have to go to housing and give them a check.

Oh thanks.. my parents didn't tell me about the check they received from the school ha ha.

Phew that's a relief. Thanks a lot.

trig-
While UCLA may have mailed that check to your house, it is wrriten in your name, not theirs.

For next quarter, you may want to sign up for Bruin Direct (see ursa) --this will help you avoid this gap in the future-- the fin aid monies (after fees are deducted) are deposited straight into your checking account then you pay housing.
