okay... this may be kind of dumb -- but i'm mostly applying to small LACs and i don't really understand this school business. if i am in the arts school, can i still take classes in the journalism school? are there limits to how many i can take?

also; i saw elsewhere on this board that it's not that hard to transfer schools. so , given that i am not sure whether i want to study journalism, english, or IR, do you think it would be easier for me to get into the journalism school rather than the arts/sciences school given that i have journalism related ECs (Arts editor of the newspaper, staff on yearbook, photo editor on literary magazine, extracurricular essay thing on commapp is about newspaper).. or is it just generally harder?

Medill is one of the most competitive undergraduate journalism schools in the nation. Period.

If you are looking for chances to get in, definitely apply WCAS, although be warned that you generally won't be able to transfer into Medill later on.

wrong, arts and sciences and medill have equivalent test scores, with arts and sciences' being just slightly higher. The schools are equally selective, just differently focused. Medill looks for specific interest in journalism when they review apps.

THIS is a true statement. You will be able to transfer but it will be arduous.
