Confused about UCLA loans and Financial Aid "Eligibility"

Hi Guys!

So originally I believed UCLA was not offering me any financial aid. Disheartened, I am now choosing all the loans I will be taking out. As I was confirming the amount of loans to take out on their website I noticed there was a graph that said something like:

(Replaced actual numbers with "X")

Budget Summary
Cost of Attendance $33,364.00
Parent Contribution $XX,XXX.00
Student Contribution $XXX.00
Financial Aid Eligibility $9,530.00

In the "Awards and Notices" section, there was no section for financial aid awarded. What does that mean I am Eligible for this financial aid? I don't want to take out any more loans than I need to. Sorry I am just really REALLY confused about this whole process and it seems like the Financial Aid office never gives me straight forward answers.

Direct Loans would consider as financial aid

@4kidsdad‌ Serious? Man that doesn’t feel like aid, just a nicer way to extort money. Thank you for the clarification!
