Confused...grading?

<p>So I'm confused as to how each professor grades. I mean I know they each have they own scale and curves.</p>

<p>But I thought all of them would give -/+ grades considering that those do affect our GPA.</p>

<p>I got a B in one class and thought I should have at least gotten a B+ but my professor told me he doesn't give -/+.</p>

<p>So, professors can choose to do this if they want to?</p>

<p>That is correct. Professors can choose whether or not they want to give +/-'s. Some professors often state in their syllabus that they do not use +/-'s but reserve using them for students whose grades are very close to cut offs.</p>
