<p>Ok so I just started taking a look at the CommonApp and filling out a few things, but I’ve run into two problems with my EC hours.</p>
<li><p>Is it ok to “average” hours/week numbers? For instance, something typical for me as a club president is to spend 5 hours one week organizing an event, and then 1-2 hours each other week that month holding meetings and doing little things. In this situation, can I average to 2.5 hours/week?</p></li>
<li><p>It asks for “hours/week” for an EC, but what if that number has significantly changed throughout the years you’ve been involved in an activity–for instance, I was only a member of a club in 9th grade, then VP 10th grade, and then president in 11th. Let’s say my weekly hours were 1hour/week in 9th grade, 2hours/week in 10th grade, and 3hours/week in 11th grade. In this situation, do I average the times and say I spend 2 hours/week or do I list my commitment in the most recent year?</p></li>
