Confused... so many tests to take... but WHEN..??

I'm a junior this year and I'm getting so stressed out and nervous about this whole applying-to-college thing. :-(
I've been on CC just a couple of days but I found many forums quite informative and really liked the way people helped out each other and exchanged informations.
I just took SAT Reasoning test last January and did pretty well on the math and essay sections, but screwed up on CR and Writing Multiple Choice sections.

I am going to apply early to at least one school (haven't decided yet which school is my top choice), so I have four more chances to take this test. (Apr, May, Jun, Oct)
The thing is one of my teachers told me that I shouldn't take SAT more than three times and I'm also planning to take 3 AP's in May.
On top of that, I will have to take at least TWO or more SAT subject tests since some of the schools I want to apply to require those scores.
All these things are just mixed up in my mind right now and I can't really decide anything, urgh.
I really need some advice from anyone who has more knowledge about these tests than me and those who have gone through this mess already.

Thank you for taking time to read my post and I'd appreciate any advice from you!!! :->

I agree that it's not good to take the SAT more than twice. However, if you found the CR and Writing sections so difficult, why not try to take the ACT? It's just a suggestion...I'm not trying to confuse you even more.

The SAT-II subject tests are in May (registration deadline is some time in April) right around the same time as the AP exams. This is actually a bonus, because if you're taking, say, the AP U.S. History exam, you won't need to study separately for the SAT-II U.S. test. So if I were you, I would try to take the SAT-II tests in the same subjects you're taking AP's...this way you can avoid any unnecessary studying!

As for the SAT, I would wait until after AP exams and the SAT-II tests. You can take it in June or October and you'll be fine. In the meantime, you can research the ACT a bit more and try some practice tests...then, if you feel more comfortable with that, you can the ACT in June if you'd like to.

Did I help at all? Basically, here's how it goes:

In May, you've got AP's and SAT-II's in the same week. Try to pick subjects that you're taking for both of them. Buy prep books for your AP's and use those to study for both sets of tests - prep books are essential, trust me!

You don't have to take the SAT again right now. Buy a prep book and study some more if you really want to improve. Or, if you decide you want to try the ACT instead, buy a prep book for that and take that in June. If you do even worse on that (which I hope you don't), you can still go with your original plan and take the SAT again in October. This gives you plenty of time to prep for either/both.

EDIT: Which AP exams are you taking?

I'm taking AP Calc AB, AP Bio, and AP Chem tests. I'm not very sure if it's a good idea to take two hard science tests on the same week, but I guess studying for these subjects wouldn't hurt me cause I'm planning to major in biomed engineering or possibly neuroscience. (Actually deciding on the major is another main reason for my headache..) For SAT II's, I was thinking about taking Math IIC, Biology or Chemistry, and Spanish. I don't think I would do well on AP Spanish test because my teacher this year is way too much relaxed and we haven't covered half the materials required by AP curriculum. bleh.
Anyway thank you so much for your advice!!! It really helped!! :->

Take SAT II Biology, Chemistry, and Math Level 2 in May, since you're taking those APs in the same duration (except for AP Calculus AB). Math Level 2 goes up to Trigonometry & PreCalculus, but I suggest taking it in May to save money. Plus, you're studying for math, anyway. April SAT deadline was yesterday, but you can still make it if you're willing to pay the late registration fee. This gives you June and October left for any redos you want to make.

mrrabbit- I am in the same situation like yours. I am taking SAT II -Bio,and Chem on May 6th and AP-chem and Bio on May 10th and 8th. This way I can study for both the exams which covers same subjects. Planning on ACT on June 10th and may be SAT I again on June 3rd(1st one taken in Dec 05 and my score cr=690, m=780, w=700 e=9-ran out of time and could not finish). I want to improve my SAT I but as you said I am also very busy with school work, and EC and very confused of when to take other SAT II ( Math II, Span- may be in october as suggested by sous). What are your SAT I scores and what are your goals. I want to get it over 2250. Good luck to you. I guess Junior year is very hectic for lot of kids with our situation.

hey...sis1a and mrrabit. i am also taking ap bio chem tests in this may
but sincec i already took 2 sat 2s in my sophomore year, i am thinking about taking only chem sat 2 in june...i took sat 1 in january but got a unsatisfactory result. i then registered for the april 1st test, on which i hope i could get a 2300+
