Confused

I am just getting done with my first quarter of college and I WAS planning on following the necessary curriculum to apply to medical school with hopes of becoming a doctor. My problem is I do not know if I am willing to put in all of the work necessary, I am having second thoughts. I don't think I can take the stress of always needing to get the A (so I hear) and in the present it does not seem beneficial to spend my summers volunteering when I am just going to fall farther into debt.
So I am wondering if you who are in medical school, or residency, or out working as doctors could list some of the pros/cons of your journey...It would help me a lot.
Thanks a bunch

I am just a freshman in college, but from what I have read and the advice I've been given, you don't necessarily have to get straight A's to get into medical school (unless you need to get into a top tier school). That being said, its something to aim for; Its great if it happens, but its not the end of your journey if it doesn't.
