Confusion about reporting grades.

At the end of my freshman year, my Algebra II teacher came up to me and asked if I wanted to try to get into a Pre-Calculus summer program. The details kind of confused me, but I went for it because I'm..just like that. I can't remember if it was supposed to be considered as a college class or just a summer class that allowed people to skip on to Calculus. I know that it had to do with a local community college, but it took place at a local high school.

So, I took Pre-Calculus over the summer, with Trigonometry because they went together.

Issues popped up, and...I got a C in Trigonometry. Somehow, I got an A for Pre-Calculus. I don't get it either.

I was supposed to go ask for the transcript and give it to the high school to get high school credit so that I could take Calculus my sophomore year.

My mom was worried about the C and both of us had no idea how it would appear on my transcript, so we asked the counselor if we were required to show it or if we could pretty much pretend it never happened. Well, the counselor told us that if we didn't show it to the high school and get high school credit for it, then it didn't matter.

I ended up taking Pre-Calculus for my sophomore year. (Yeah, I know. Wasted summer.)

But when I look around college websites, I see something about, "You must report all your grades," or something like that. So would I have to tell the colleges about that summer? How would it affect me if they saw that C? How would it affect me if I pretty much repeated the class? (I did get an A my sophomore year, but..)

I’m in a similar boat as you, i have an incomplete semester from a stupid online school from '07 - i have read the living bejesus out of this forum looking for answers today… to be exact about 6 hours worth of research.
I’m going to a community college now, finished my last semester with a 3.4 and half way finished w a full load in summer classes. I did not tell my CC about that online school because quite frankly I just plain forgot I even participated in it until this morning.
I haven’t had any issues yet for NOT informing my school about a single incomplete semester else where.

currently, it is to my belief that schools only look up transcripts for the sake of a student trying to transfer with claimed credits. IF the student enrolls without listing previous classes, I don’t see why the school would spend the time + money to check every student through NSC

Yeah, I saw your post and I was kind of hoping that someone would reply…(>__<) If the policy of “What they don’t know won’t hurt them” is fine, then that’s good.

Thank you very much for replying to my post!
