Confusion about self-reported SAT and ACT scores for CSU applications. Help?

For my CSU applications I self-reported both my SAT and ACT scores, despite my ACT score being much higher. I was under the impression I had to list both. I have already sent in my official ACT score report to the colleges. Although I don't want my SAT score to be really looked at, do I still have to send in the official report? Or will one official score suffice? Also, will my SAT score even be looked at since it is lower? I'm not sure how it works.

Thanks

You need to send only one test, ACT or SAT. If you send both, they use the one believed to be higher and other is not held against you.

Not true at least for San Diego State. My younger son self-reported both SAT and ACT, although ACT was much higher. He sent the official ACT score to SDSU, was accepted and part of his do list for enrolling was to also send the SAT score. Since he was already admitted based on the ACT score, it was a moot point but if you do decide to enroll (not sure if it is true for all Cal States), then you may still have to send the SAT score for their records.

So, I should hold back on sending SAT scores for now, since I already sent in my official ACT score report… But they might need me to send them later, if accepted. Thanks.

Yep, you need to only send in one test. At the end, you have to send in all your test scores with your transcripts if you choose to attend the school (I’m assuming for statistics and freshman profile)
