confusion w/admission

Hey I was wondering if this looks like what Cornell is looking for at all for music/creative writing majors:

GPA: 4.19 weighted (going to rise)
3.88 unweighted (same)
Rank: 32/317 (getting better..it's in the 20's now)
SAT: (they're not fair)..writing 610, crit reading 520, math 550.
ACT: June 10th, not taken yet.
9th grade i took almost all honors (I have 3 B's on my transcript), 10th grade i took 2 honors, this year (11) i took 1 ap and 4 honors and have all A's (one b+). From 10th grade on, I have all A's on the transcript. Next year, I am taking 4 AP's (2 AP and 2 ap weighted honors) and 1 actual honors honors.

Extracurriculars: People to people student ambassador program, national youth leadership conference (possibly--next summer), glsen (helps teach others about diversity), junior mendelssohn choir, voice lessons, piano lessons, cantoring for my rabbi, jazz choir, chamber choir (most elite), and many others that I can't think of.

Thanks!!

Your SAT scores are too low. Also, there is no creative writing major, only a concentration within the English major. Lastly, they don't "look" for anything in those areas because if you want to do those things you'll be applying to the College of Arts and Sciences, where the major you list is inconsequential with respect to whether or not you're admitted.

Your Extra-curriculars are good.
But, you academics is low. You do have a positive trend, as in your perfomance is improving as your courses become tougher.

Try redoing the SATs...score a Lot higher. Try and ace your senior year. You should have a decent shot then.

thanks!
the only thing is i took the sat's twice already, and they honestly are the hardest things i've ever done..i even had a tutor, but was of no use (apparently). I just don't understand HOW people do well on them i'm so confused. I tried hard, I'll probably retake them (maybe the sat IIs).

Have you tried taking the ACT? Maybe you should look into it.

I am going to second what odyssey said- Try the ACT's. Some kids just do better on that test. Now I am going to sound like a Jewish mom- Though my d loves Cornell and is in the ILR program, are you sure Cornell is the right school for music/creative writing?? If you are from NYS, I have heard Suny Purchase is supposed to have a good creative writing program. They're also known for performing arts, so I would think the music dept is fine too. Some other LAC's in NYS which might meet your needs may include vasser, skidmore and I am sure there are a host of others. But you'll need higher sat's for them- so please try the ACT- D# 2 did much better on that test than the SAT. Cornell is probably one of the most confusing schools to apply to- so if you are applying, do you know which college you are applying to?? I assume CAS as you are interested in music and creative writing. But if you are interested in communication, you may need to apply to CALS. Good luck.

I think I'm just repeating a lot of what the other people are saying but your SATs are little on the low side--definitely try the ACTs. One of my friends who did poorly on the SATs scored amazingly well on the ACTs, and plus you don't need to take any SAT IIs.

Are you sure u don't need SAT 2's? And yes it is very important that u keep those grades rising. You can't take back the past but u can sure as hell do great now and in the future! GL! (and improve those SATs and take the ACTs as they said)
