Congrats to Bullet

I just want to say Congratulations to Bullet as he enjoys his retirement, which becomes official today.

I have had the pleasure to meet him personally and spend some time with him. I can only hope that my son becomes half the officer that he is.

May you enjoy this new phase of your life as much as you have obviously enjoyed the last.

Congrats, Bullet, and Pima - take cover! haha

I am thankful for your long and dedicated service. I know my sons aspire to be fine officers and you are a great role model for them.

Thank you and good luck!

I did hope you stick around as you have been incredibly helpful on these boards. We've appreciated your collective insight and certainly wish the best for the both of you and your family. Thank you again for your service.

Bullet,

Congradulations on the retirement. Hope you enjoy the civilian side half as much.
I know I still miss the green side of things. You see the guys deploying, and remember all those trips over the past twenty. Mostly nostolgia I think. You forget how much you missed the family, or hated living in a tent in some arm pit of the world. Instead you remember the nights out in Son Tong City, chasing around downtown london or Running around Fusa. Still when you see those planes or the guys on the flightline somewhere that itch starts again.
just remember now you have the freedom to enjoy that vacation, Sleep in late, and just watch the occasional sunset with Pima.

All,

Thank youso much for the kind words. Pima and I are recovering from a whirl-wind last two days. Alka Sletzer and Tylenol can only do so much; sleep is what we need now. :)

We will get back to you all sometime soon with a few of the details. Suffice it to say for now it was an incredible 48 hours between my fini-flight on Thursday, and my retirement ceremony and party yesterday.

And the excitement doesn't end soon, as the packers come on Monday to take us away to our next phase in life (they now have a few more momentos to pack as well). We may be out of touch for a few weeks, but I'm sure we'll be here again soon, ready to hear your questions and provide some insight from a couple who has "been there, done that".

But for now, take care, and blessings to you all. It's been a great ride!

Mr. Bullet

Well done, Bullet.

Congrats! And of course, thank you for all your word of wisdom to us young 'uns :)

Since I will be dealing with movers starting in @36 hrs, I want to say thank you all for thinking of us during this time...and yes, I cried. Probably the most touching point to me was when he spoke about our family, especially a story about our daughter. When he finished and asked her to come up to the stage to accept a gift, she was sobbing and hugged him. She didn't realize that as they were hugging he had the mic and she whispered I love you Daddy. (still makes me cry)

As Bullet has already said, it has been and honor and a priviledge to be a part of the AF family...we will stick around since DS1 will become the next generation.

BTW we just did the last airport run...SCAOL can give you all of his highlights if he chooses!

Bullet - How do you pronounce that! Is it like Scale? Scold? Skoal? Scall? Scald? :)

mmm Silly Cadets Always On-Line. True. True.

You pronounce like Skoal the chewing tobacco
