Get ready to take a huge step into the future and make sure you're ready to squeeze the most out of your time at Penn. College is the big leagues, but Penn is the frickin' Ivy League; you're going to be with people from all walks of life all striving for a fantastic education. I sound like a Hallmark card.

Let me do this the easy way... Hurrah hurrah and CONGRATULATIONS!

If you have any questions, you can ask away on this thread and I'll try to answer ASAP. Or email me and I'll see what I can do!

Hey I was just wondering whether you know anyone that did something stupid or bold to get into the University of Pennsylvania? I would really like to apply to UPenn but I don’t believe I have the grades for such an awesome school. Like has anyone went to Barack Obama for a reference letter or saved the Dean of Admission’s life or something? I’m not joking, I’m 100% serious.

Thank you jreeder! Being in the Penn Band has to be an incredible experience! What was it like when you won the Ivy League this year in Football?

l2kassassisn,
I don’t know anyone who has PURPOSELY done anything outstanding to get into Penn. I know people who have done outstanding things, but just for the sake of doing those things. If doing something crazy cool is what’s going to set you apart from everyone else, I say go for it. But do it soon lol.

cescfabregas,
Winning the Ivy League title is no big thing for us (brushes shoulders off). All kidding aside, it was AWESOME. Being in the band is by far the best choice I have made since coming here. They caught me during move-in and I showed up to the first rehearsal. The rest is history. The band travels to all of the football games (home and away!) and also to some other exotic locations (this year some of us are playing on a cruise ship in the Bahamas). We play at all the home basketball games and all sorts of events throughout the year (convocation, etc.). If you play an instrument, I strongly urge you to join. If you don’t play an instrument…I still strongly urge you to join!
