So I felt the need to make a sappy post, and I apologize in advance for being overly emotional.

December 10: The day that will live in infamy.

Thank you all for allowing me to get to know some of your personalities through CC. You’re a group of wonderful, outgoing, intelligent, down-to-earth, charming, and gorgeous people. No matter what happens tomorrow, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US is going to succeed in life. I sincerely believe that.

We all know that there are so many factors involved in decisions: Legacies, athletic recruits, and URMs all have the potential to bump others out of the pool. Maybe Penn just happened to have too many flute players and wanted a clarinet player instead. Maybe they already had too many people from New Jersey and they wanted a less qualified applicant from Alaska instead. Maybe the admissions officer reading your file just had a bad day. Unfortunately, the same wonderful group of a few thousand kids want to go to the same 10 schools.

Either way, no matter what happens, let’s be proud of ourselves. Whatever that computer screen says, let’s go have fun Friday night with friends, family, or whoever else you want to celebrate with. Because thats what I’m going to do either way: CELEBRATE. I put forth my best effort, and even the fact that I could apply to a school like Penn as a serious candidate was an honor.

Once again, just know that I appreciate having all of you guys to stress out with, to talk to, and to lean on. It’s easier to go through the whole process knowing that others are right there with you. I guess now all that’s left is to wait and see what life has in store for us. But just in case Penn doesn’t say it, let me: CONGRATULATIONS!

Seriously. Congratulations, you all rock.
