Congratulations, NCAA Women's Track (DIII) National Champ!

“The Wesleyan women’s track team finished out the indoor season with a championship meet full of records at the 2023 NCAA Division III (DIII) Indoor Championships, held from Friday, March 10 to Saturday, March 11 in Birmingham, Alabama. Grace Devanny ’23 was crowned the 2023 DIII National Champion in the 400 meters, setting a school record time of 54.96 seconds, and the Cardinal’s distance medley relay team set a school record and placed eighth.”

51.22 won the Pac 12 women’s 400 meter championship last year. Her time is no joke.

Just checked. She also broke her own NESCAC record in the 400.

She also smokes in the 100 and 200, but Conn College happens to have a real flier in the short sprints by the name of Malissa Lindsey, who set the conference 100 meter record this year in a blistering 11.76 and the 200 record as well in 24.14. Those times are pretty fast. The 11.76 would tie her for 14th fastest 100 meter time run by any Pac 12 woman thus far this season.

It’s good to post these accomplishments on this board every now and then to help people understand that DIII sports is not the place average high school athletes come to compete. To put some of those times into perspective, the Washington 4A girls 100 meter state champ ran a 11.96, the 200 champ ran a 24.9 and the 400 champ ran a 57.1.
