Connecticut College V Trinity College

I was wondering if someone could compare the academics, social life, friendliness of students, and the job reputation in the business world from both schools. I am deciding between these two schools and I have only until May 1rst to decide, so any responses would help.

I’m not a college student but I’ve visited both and I noticed you do not have any replies yet so I’ll give you what I’ve got.

Connecticut College:

-Academics: Very supportive where students get high grades. For computer science, they have TAs available at a certain time 6/7 days a week to help students on their programming, for example. The students have told me, “The teachers do not just hand you the material and you decide what to do with it. They GENUINELY want you to succeed.” Also, there are lots of opportunities for study abroad or studying at other schools.

-Everyone there is extremely nice. I visited w/ my dad and he joke to me, “Everyone is so nice here it’s making me nauseous.” The kids are quite musical.
-Idk about the “job reputation,” but it is one of the highest ranking schools for career services. I do not think one should have to worry about whether or not they’ll find a job post graduation.
-Extra perks: free music lessons, guaranteed $3,000 towards an internship experience. I also ADORE the location and campus.

Trinity College (will be thinner as I’ve visited the former school 4 times and this school 1 time):

-Academics: Classes seemed harder from the way students described it. Good or bad depending on your take. For example, perhaps Conn would be better for premed. Students seemed slightly more passionate about the classes they were taking, however. Lots of opportunities for study abroad or studying at other schools.
-The kids seemed quite polite and studious.
-Job reputation: Trinity College probably has a better “brand name.”
-Extra perks: It’s in a city location, so more to do.

I would also like to state that you can cross-register between Conn and Trin.

Thanks! I ended up choosing Connecticut College!

Congrats.
