Connections

I'm a highschool student looking to get into one of the ivys'. I have a certain family member who serves on the board of something at the medical school. Would the connection of my relative help me get into the school? Or maybe can my relative have a connection somewhere else within the school that can help me get into the school?

Why do you think we, the hopeful masses, know more about how extensive the nepotism network at this unnamed Ivy is than your certain family member, who actually works there?

Ask him/her.

I meant to ask ‘has this happened before?’ Or any examples.

Membership on a board at a Med school is hardly connected much w/undergrad admissions. They don’t feel they need to “play nice” with your board member relative. He has no sway whatsoever with the goings on at the college. I’m sure they would be polite to his inquiries – but you overestimate his influence. Have a few less Bs on your transcript will make a bigger difference than your relative’s board membership.

Thank you. But what do you mean underground admission?

read again, I said “undergrad”
