Are connections reallyimportant?

If someone was an average student, but had a very strong connection to a prestigous school, what would the students chances be?

If you are talking financial connections i.e parents are long time BIG$$$$ donors to P.S , then you may have a chance as a developmental admit.

above poster is right big donations and legacy help you out. But knowing someone in a department wont do much. Read the Gatekeepers and youll get it. Only thing that matters is legacy and libraries named after you lol

Legacy won't do much either if you don't have at least average stats for the school.

I agree with all of your responses, but this man gives huge sums of money to the school. He has a college named after him and has give nover 80 million dollars. Do you think if he made one call and recommended me, I would get in?

If he is not your dad /grandfather and you don't have the stats to at least be considered on your own merit then no, it won't help.Sorry., dems de facts dees days.

Yes, if he said he wanted you accepted and you're halfway qualified.
