Accepted to CSON this Friday and want to hear from anyone else who was accepted. Just want to hear from some other future CSON Eagles!!!

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted Early Action for the Fall, 2011 School of Nursing class. Our daughter received her large envelope with her acceptance on Friday, 12/17 and left her car by the mailbox and ran all the way down to our home waving it in the air. I am confident that the Nursing class is going to be a wonderful and passionate group, and good luck to everyone!

what were your stats? i applied for regular decision

Can’t wait to meet some fellow Nursing majors, there doesn’t seem to be many at this point!

I can honestly say that I think being yourself, forgetting about your stats and having an essay that speaks of who “you” are is most important. It’s what everyone tells you but everyone forgets.

Forget about SAT scores and SAT II scores and just submit the best you’ve got. Our daughter didn’t think hers were good enough, no one ever does. Stop obsessing about scores. Your essay and recommendations and what you’ve done to distinguish yourself these past four years is key.

I can say that if you have a particular talent, try to showcase it. Make yourself stand out in some way. Show your passion, not what you think “they” want to see. Our daughter had talents that Boston College appreciated. She received scholarships from almost every school she applied to EA. Yet, most would agree that if it were just a numbers game, she would feel defeated before she even began to apply. She is still deciding, but Boston College EA was a real morale booster.

Good luck to everyone applying in the RD group. Remember that everything, even failures, happen for a reason. If it’s to be, it will be.

Boston College really looks at the applications with a holistic approach. So no one can predict the outcome. Someone who seems superior to another candidate may be better at another skill, or have a different talent, or background that will make a community of learners. Just apply, take a chance, and good luck if the dream comes true for you. The Nursing class in particular are known to be caring, exceptional students and some of the nicest people on campus, so the Admissions Department must be doing something right!

Yeah CSON! I’m so excited! I’m not 100% definitely choosing BC right now but it’s at the very top of my list and I’m leaning in that direction. Honestly, what other direct entry programs are better?! I know someone who just graduated from CSON last year and she said that her four years at BC were amazing and her nursing friends are amazing.

Also, about stats for RD, I honestly didn’t think my grades were good enough for BC. My SATs were fine, but my transcript wasn’t even close to perfect. I really think that what helped me get in was my essay, which I felt extremely confident about. BC wants passion over perfect grades.

i really hope i get in ! i guess we will see. bc is my dream

@BCEagle8… do you mind share your STAT?

does anyone know how many students they accept into the nursing school?

Roughly 100 nurses per year.

Oh, sorry. That’s how many are accepted and choose to attend. I don’t know what the yield is.
