Conscription!

Uganda is a different case unfortunately. The US is full of selfish people with millions of dollars at their hands and have never donated a single dollar to help anyone in worse situations than their own.

So they will start drafting people using the USNWR ranking lol

ewww, PLEASE don't generalize. A lot of people donate money.

For instance, a little boy in Northern Uganda will be able to attend school this year because my mother is sponsoring him on my behalf (I don't have a job=no money to do it myself). There are several cases such as this around here.

Oh hush with the semantics crap.

Of course there's good people, but you know damn well the general consensus. Don't sugar coat America.

And how is it on your behalf? From what I read, your not contributing a dime.

And let's try to get back on topic. :)

There's no need to make it sound worse than it is, either.

Let me ask you something: if we're such a horrible country, why are people all over the WORLD trying to come here?

Yeah, we must be awful.

Exactly: on my behalf.

It should be you're.

Actually its mainly mexicans who want to get into your country. Over here in Europe there is a general discontent with the US

First, it's not all "Mexicans," it's people that go through Mexico.
Second, there's a discontent over here about people in Europe who judge the US like that without knowing everything.

That being said, I love Europe.

Maybe some people should do some research before fearing the draft. It's not going to happen unless the US becomes involved in a MAJOR war (i.e. we'll loose w/o the draft kind of war).

So, I'm glad to see that supposedly bright students read one British article and freak out, lol.

The Telegraph article quoted one military official in the Bush administration and stated his opinion. That opinion has been voiced several times during the administration, and has been reported in the US press as well. One advisor does not a statute make, and it takes an act of Congress to reinstate the draft.

If there is a draft, I will go on a shooting spree on capitol hill.
