Consequences of sending 2012 tax returns a few days late to UPenn?

I sent the PFAS, FAFSA, and CSS to Penn on time. They want the 2012 tax returns by Friday, February 15th. However, my father is being extremely slow in getting his tax returns done this early and said that they will be done early next week (Feb 18-20). If I send them a few days late is it going to affect me negatively in any way, such as getting less aid?

I doubt a few days would affect the amount of aid you get, they probably won’t even finish processing your tax returns until the end of next week. Do contact the financial aid office and explain the situation, however.

lilahrosie - I STILL haven’t filed my 2012 tax returns because I’m still waiting for 1099s. I emailed the Financial Aid office at UPENN last week (before Feb. 15) and explained why I would miss the Feb. 15 deadline. They sent a reply saying “no worries, just file ASAP.” I agree with mydivision’s reply to you - I doubt a few days will matter.

Awesome guys, thanks! 4Snowdays - glad to know its not just me. I think they’ll be done by tomorrow (or so my dad says). Good luck!
