IMPORTANT:question about UPenn Financial Aid

So I've submitted all the required components off the Penn financial aid checklist except for my parents' 2012 tax returns. Problem is that my parents' 2012 tax returns are not going to be ready by February 15th.

If I've already submitted the important documents like css profile, fafsa, financial aid supplement and even the 2011 tax returns, do you guys think it would be alright to submit the 2012 tax returns later? Could they not give me a financial award estimate from my parents' 2011 tax returns?

Any help is appreciated! I emailed the financial aid office but I have not gotten a reply yet.

You’re definitely alright as long as you filed your fafsa right after the new year (with estimates from your 2011 return). Then, when your parents get their 2012 info in a couple of days, you can update your fafsa with the most accurate 2012 information. Three weeks later you should be able to electronically transfer IRS data into your fafsa, which will lock it down in time for your aid. Penn needs to wait for RD before calculating everything, so you have time. but you can always call Penn SFS or even FAFSA–just make sure you call the gov agency and not a FAFSA assistance service…
