Hi All,

Sorry if something similar to this has been answered before ...

Basically, applying to Ivies this autumn (yes, that's what we call 'fall' in the UK!) and taking the SAT in October. I have near-impeccable results at 16+ and 17+ exams, row internationally and am Deputy Head of School, as well as participate in ROTC equivalents and debating societies etc.. I'm expecting good results in the subject tests, but am slightly anxious about the standard SAT. We receive no support in terms of preparation over here and I generally don't tend to do that well on the more abstract sorts of exams (i.e. the ones you can't revise for).

First of all, for the top places, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford etc., how much of your application does it roughly take up?Also, do you think admissions tutors would overlook a less than stellar performance in the SAT (so 2000-2200ish area) because of the fact that I haven't been born and bred to take it most US students (which is the impression I get from what I've read ... no offence :P)?

Be honest and thanks in advance for any replies :)
